My Sunday Afternoon

 My Sunday afternoon was a very interesting one.  First I took pictures of the sunset because I think sunsets are cool.

After that I went Christmas caroling with two of my friends, Nicole and Melissa.

This was a lot of fun! We went to a few different nursing homes and a couple houses. 

Then I went to youth group with Nicole, Melissa, and my other friend Megan where they had a white elephant gift exchange.

Melissa and her bow tie...She thinks they are cool. 

I will have very exciting post coming soon...Well I think it is exciting.

Family Chirstmas

The other day we had a big family Christmas with all of my seconed cousins and great aunts and uncles. 

There is always a ton of food.

I thought these were so cute.  It is little eggs and bacon. Well it is actually M&Ms white chocolate and pretzels.

  Every year, at least for a little, we play doge ball and there are always a few card games going at once.

That is how my Saturday went, with family.

hello dear friends (of my friend)

Hello lovelies. Since I obviously like hacking whitney's blog, I have returned. Those of you who have been readers since I last installed a design for whit, probably already know who I am. I'm Megan Kristine; blogger over at Borderless. Whitney recently brought my excitement up after posting about returning to blogging. (I get happy when my friends post, as you might have figured out on your own.) Whitney, upon her return, asked me to redesign her blog for a more christmas-y look. Lovely new design, no?

Whitney is a very amazing person. She's funny and loves whispering jokes to me during class. We were both quite quiet when we first met each other; however, we're now a crazy pair of girls -- especially when matched with Melissa. At school you will often always see us together. Just because Whitney is one month older and a good few inches taller doesn't mean I don't put up a good fight (because, you know, I read HTML. Fluently.) She's a wonderful friend, creative teenager, and great aspiring photographer. The fact that she is a fellow novel writer and lets me give her crazy names for evil worlds in her story (that make us laugh every time we hear them) is merely an added bonus. Yeah, Whitney's pretty cool.

Hello Again

I have decided to start blogging again.  I don't know for how long but I decided to at least try  again.  
One of my favorite things to do to get ready for Christmas is, to decorate my grandma's house.  My sisters, cousins, and I were there on Sunday night.   The evening was full of games, pizza, lights, candy canes, and much laughter.  Here are a few pictures of our evening.

So, did everyone have a good 4th of July?  I know I did.  first with my 3 sisters, Melissa, (yes the one and only from living bold) and one of our other friends went and panted someones garage. Then we went to Melissa's house and had some lunch...And watched as a frog jumped off of Melissa's head...Ah good times :)  Then we went home.  Then later that evening we went to our church ate and played some games with everyone.  Then of course we went to watch fireworks.  Sorry I don't have any pictures. 

I'm sure everyone knows that if you do stuff with a happy heart you will always have more fun. Well it is even true with mowing. This year I started mowing with the riding mower. The first time I mowed I had so much fun because it is so much better then the push mower.  I have mowed with the rider 3 or 4 times now and every time I have had fun but the last time I almost didn't.  I was right in the middle of a book and Kaylee asked me to go mow or help clean the house. Well me, I would rather go outside then clean so I decided to mow.  I wasn't very happy with it but I knew that if I didn't Kaylee would get mad at me.  I went up stairs to put suntan lotion on and decided that maybe if I have a happy heart again it won't be so bad.  I went outside ready to mow with a happy heart.  After a little while I decided that I wanted some music so I was trying to dance and singing as loud as I could with my MP3.  Turns  out I had a lot of fun.  So if you do stuff with a happy heart it will be fun.

I Got back on Friday from Pine Lake Christian Camp

I had so much fun.

I had a lot of fun and learned a lot about God and his love for me. 

I grew up knowing that God loved me and he sent his son for me but I never really got how much he loves me.  Something else I learned that we talked about is that without God we can't do anything and we need friends to help us along.  My goal is to spend at least a little bit of time with God each day. It could be just praying or reading my bible.  Because like I said already we can't do anything without God.

My cabin mates were the coolest people ever!

I also think Pine Lake is one of the best camps ever. But I've only gone to 2

Yes I am still here.  Sorry I haven't posted much.  I had lots of school and end of the school year stuff.  That is behind me now so I wish to post more.

The Challenge

We will officially start the challenge not this Sunday or Monday but the next because we have family from out of state coming this week.

The Challenge Book

OK, we only had one book to choose from. Thank you Megan @ me that's all I have to be. Kaylee and I will be reading The Giver.  I know I said I would post what book we would be reading yesterday or  Saturday night but I haven't seen my sister long enough to talk about it. Saturday I was at my friends house and was with her until last night. Then Kaylee looked and saw we only have one book to choose from so we will be reading The Giver for our first challenge. If any body has ideas for the next challenge, suggestions are always welcome.

Favorite time of the week

OK so my favorite time of the week is when I get all of my school done for that week.  This week I got all of my school done with a day and a half extra!!! I am soooo excited...but I still could do math and some extra history for next week so there goes a day and a half of freedom:( but I am still very excited about getting my other stuff done.

The Challenge

So my older sister Kaylee, over at soaringonmusicalwings, challenged me to a book reading contest to see who could read a book the fasted. So Kaylee and I have decided to challenge each other one time each month.  We will put each other to the test in many random things.  We like to call this:

So here is how it works.  Each month we will choose something random that we will challenge each other to do.  Whoever, does the challenge first WINS!!!  There will be no prize only bragging rights!!  The first Challenge is.....

The Reading Challenge

This challenge began when Whitney claimed she could read a book faster then I could.  Since I am the older sister I am CLEARLY the one who can read faster so I challenged her to a reading challenge.

The Rules:  Since we are homeschooled we decided that we are not allowed to start reading the book until after three thirty, except for on weekends, that way we get our school done before we begin.  We have to keep you updated and then write what we thought about the book on our blog.  

We need YOU to leave comments with one of your favorite books.  After one week we will pick the book we want to read and BEGIN!!!!

What I am grateful for/ Prayer Request and Praise

OK so I was looking at my posts yesterday after I posted about school... again and I decided that I would do my next post on things I am grateful for.  OK so I am grateful for all the wonderful people in my life, piano lessons, violin lessons, (well I don't really do violin lessons but I still play) and Kalona Coffee house and Kalona chocolates.  And everything else that God has given me.  Oh and school even though I don't like it.

One of my aunts had surgery yesterday because she was having pain in her stomach.  luckily it wasn't what they thought it was (I don't remember what it was some long name)  and they found out what it was.  It was an  ovarian cyst as well as 2 adhesion's on her intestines.  So the prayer request is that she will have a safe and fast recovery, and the praise is that it wasn't what they thought it was and that they were able to fix it.

I DONT LIKE SCHOOL

So this week are third quarter test :( not fun, and that means that this week so far has been studying doing any extra work that needs to be done this week and lot more studying.  Studying just makes me SO tired and its SO boring.  I haven't actually fallen asleep while studying or doing any other kind of school work yet but my sisters have and when they did some classes that they didn't think were that entrusting when they were doing the homework and so far i haven't had that boring of  classes yet and i am hoping that i wont.

I just noticed that all of my post so far have been about school except the one about me.  I am not a homeschooler who does school all the time but whenever i am doing school i decide to post and then all i can think about is school so i post about school. and another reason is because i haven't really hangout with my friends that much this week.

TO MUCH SCHOOL

ok so first I don't really have anything to do on Thursday nights but every other Thursday night I have drama.  usually I am totally busy but not tonight :D. Any way so today i was doing so much school that I couldn't even remember what day it was.  Not kiding I was talking to my mom and I could not think of what day it was, I went through every day and could not figure it out. I wasn't acually doing that much stuff but it took for ever and this week are our third quarter test and so extra studing but lucky us we dont have much else to do but study and catchup unless we dont have a test in that class like art.

About my school

I am a homeschooler but have classes once a week with a group with other homeschoolers.  We get homework to keep us busy the rest of the week and we also have some things like math and reading that we do only at home.  We do our homework for that week then go to classes and go over what we did for homework that week and learn more stuff. Then we talk about what we are going to be doing for homework the next week, then we start all over agian.  That is what the high school kids do, the younger kids do the same thing but on a different day and they either dont have any home work or they just have a little.

Welcome to my blog! My name is Widgy. I am 13 years old, and I'm in 8th grade. I'm home schooled, but I go to classes full of home schoolers, once a week. I play the Violin and the Piano. I will soon be selling my crafts at our local Coffeehouse. My family runs a Chocolate Business, and sometimes I help make the chocolate. I really love reading, and I read a ton! I also like drawing.
